We will be staying in a perfectly rustic and rural eco-retreat centre, right on the Mediterranean Coast. Hidden away in pristine nature, ‘Yuva’ is well off the beaten track, set on 40 acres of environmentally protected natural forest, in a wild mountain area, deep in rural Turkey.
Accommodation is simple, yet beautiful, traditional Anatolian-style cottages and log cabins, each with individual bathrooms. All rooms come with twin or double beds, equipped with mosquito nets, fresh linen and towels.
Breakfast, lunch and dinners are lovingly made with the freshest ingredients sourced locally from the fertile soils of the area.
Yuva is located near Faralya Village, in the picturesque region of Fethiye, on the Turkish Riviera.
Here we will be at one with nature underneath the flawless blue and starry night skies, amongst the sandalwoods, carobs, pine, sage and mulberry trees, and with spectacular views of the clear, inviting turquoise Mediterranean Sea and picturesque mountains.
There are rocky coves and secluded, shingle swimming areas just over five minutes walk down from the centre. The breathtakingly beautiful and preserved bay of Butterfly Valley is just a 2km hike away.
Please note – we have purposefully chosen this special venue because of its remote and rural location. The nearest shops, bars, restaurants, ATMs, etc are over 8 miles away in Olu Deniz. The nearest wifi is at Yuva’s sister property, The Faralya Hotel, a 45-minute walk up the mountain path, or 10 minutes drive from Yuva.
Turkey is a magnificently diverse, beautiful and welcoming country – rich with history and culture, where the ancient and modern overlap. If you have extra time before or after the retreat to explore her lands, below are just a few suggestions from many sacred sites of pilgrimage for the Divine Feminine that are worth a visit.
The Roman temple ruins of ‘Aphrodisias’ – built in dedication to the ancient Mother Goddess of Fertility (also the Greek Goddess of Love).
The Temple of Artemis, Ephesus – founded by female warriors known as the Amazons and considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The House of the Virgin Mary – believed to be the final home of the Virgin Mary.
Mount Ida in NW Turkey – referred to as the ‘Great Mother/Earth Mother’ mountain.
